NYFW is over! | Top Five NYFW Looks
Previewing new collections and attending shows during fashion week is thrilling and inspiring. My first runway show experience was at Tara Subkoff’s Imitation of Christ in 2005, and it was just amazing.
This season, 80%20 was very excited to work with jewelry line DANNIJO and American sportswear line Porter Grey for New York Fashion Week!
With the close of fashion week, we put together some of our favorite looks from the runway.
This season, the Mulleavy sisters created a “modern Little House on the Prairie wardrobe that would make romantic fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder swoon.” Go to Fashionista.com for more images and commentary. We just adore this look…the high-waisted teal trouser, side swept hair, and the cut-out detail of the blouse are to die for.
What’s not to love about Marc by Marc Jacobs? This collection featured sophisticated 70′s discoteque meets 40′s glam. I need jade green in my wardrobe! We also dig the fact that instead of just using animal prints (ie. leopard, zebra), Jacobs featured prints of tiny animals! LOVE. Click through to style.com to see more.
The British working class was the inspiration behind the collection with a 90s sensibility. The models wore tiny black beanie hats with a palette of black, navy, grey, dusty rose outfits. We particular like this floral ensemble. For more images, go here.
For Fall 2011, inspired by a road trip they took to Santa Fe and Native American blankets, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez hit the computers to design their own prints. Doesn’t every girl want Proenza Schouler items? Don’t even get me started on their PS. 1 bags. For more runway looks, head over to style.com.
Designer Eviana Hartman of Bodkin had her first fashion week presentation this year. We love the clean and sophisticated looks that are so easy to integrate into your day to day wear. It’s also worth mentioning Bodkin’s commitment to utilizing eco friendly fabrics.
