4Knots Music Festival | July 14th, 2012
The Village Voice’s second edition of the 4Knots Music Festival kicks off on Saturday, July 14th from 1 – 8 PM at South Street Seaport, Piers 16 & 17. It’s free and open to all ages! Running between every borough of New York City and culminating near the South Street Seaport, the East River runs at a speed of “4 knots”, hence the name of the festival.
Last year’s event showcased musicians The Black Angels, Titus Andronicus, Davila 666, Oberhofer, Eleanor Friedberger and Mr. Dream at South Street Seaport’s Pier 17. This year the festival welcomes Archers Of Loaf, The Drums, Crocodiles, Team Spirit,Doldrums, Hospitality, Bleached, Nick Waterhouse, Delicate Steve and Devin.
If you can’t make it to the daytime festivities, there’s the Official 4Knots Music Festival After Party at the Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club on South Street and feature The Black Lips with Kid Congo Powers + The Pink Monkey Birds and DJ Jonathan Toubin. Tickets are only $15 and are available at: villagevoice.com/4knots. Doors are at 7pm and the show will begin right after the festival ends.
