Elena Lyakir wears our Molly Natural sandals (available at our online shop)
We’ve had the opportunity to work with Elena Lyakir on our past lookbook campaigns as our hair and make-up artist. What you probably didn’t know is that she’s also a talented fine artist and currently a featured artist at ABC Home and in ABC Kitchen.

“Her photography is so deeply inspired by the natural world – picture hazy blue seascapes, starkly bare trees, a flock of birds blotting a white sky – that it is surprising to learn she is firmly rooted in New York City.” (via ABC Reveal blog)
We’re ecstatic for Elena’s partnership with ABC! A selection of Elena’s photography is available to purchase by visiting the store /ABC Kitchen and online. Two series, Aves and Poetry of Nature, are featured prominently in ABC Kitchen (if you’ve never been the food is delicious!).

It’s been so busy that I’ve hardly had any time to check out my usual design/inspiration blogs and I stumbled upon these gorgeous photos on design work life by Elias Carlson. Such beautiful quiet moments captured that speak volumes.

Beijing artist Liu Bolin has a solo exhibition, The Invisible Man currently on show at Eli Klein Fine Art until August 28, 2011.
Liu Bolin’s The Invisible Man continues his exploration of Chinese national identity and the relationship between human beings and the environment. The large-scale photos on display will span his recent work and include his famed self-camouflage series Hiding in the City as well as Hiding in Italy. We first heard about the artist from his camouflage series and we’ve been fans ever since.

Liu Bolin was born in China’s Shandong province in 1973, and earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Shandong College of Arts and his Master of Fine Arts from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing. His work has been exhibited in museum shows around the world including recent solo exhibitions “Hiding in Italy,” Forma Centro Internazionale Di Fotografia, Milan (2010); “Hiding in the City,” Museo de Bellas Artes, Caracas (2010) and “Liu Bolin,” Fotografiska Museet, Stockholm (July, 2011).
During the month of June, Liu Bolin has been creating a series of Hiding in New York photographs! We can’t wait to see them…

Aaron Feaver is a photographer living in Los Angeles, California. I first stumbled upon his work through the suggestion of a friend and became an instant fan. I’ve purchased many of his prints via his Etsy store.
Check out Aaron’s portfolio here and even more photos at his Flickr page.
TIP: Aaron Fever likes big photos, so the page might take a little longer to load but it’s worth the wait!

Michael Casker hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Brooks Institute of Photography. He currently works and resides in New York City.
We especially love his series of photos, Pet Cloud.

It is rare these days that positivity defies negativity in popular culture- and often advertising speaks in a dull vacuous tone. Well- welcome to the work of Sean Woolsey who is taking posters in hyper popular urban spaces and turning them into messages of positivity. “It also acts as an inherent social commentary in declaring a space more public than it was before”. How Smart- and we love it.
