Summerscreen at McCarren Park
In the spring of 2005, Noemie Lafrance of Sens Productions, Alex Kane of Jelly NYC, and the Stedman brothers of The L Magazine scouted what Rolling Stone magazine would call “the coolest venue in the country.” Summerscreen launched that same summer, with over 3,000 people coming to McCarren Pool to see Do The Right Thing, and Brooklyn bands playing before the films. SummerScreen continues now entering its seventh year in McCarren Park. Crack a local Six Point Beer, try some delicious Brooklyn food, lie in the sun, and enjoy the film!

We can’t wait for next Wednesday at 6PM, when one of our favorite movies, The Princess Bride, will be playing. From time to time, we catch ourselves daydreaming about hearing ” as you wish” from an adorable farm boy like Westley, come on who hasn’t? We find it inconceivable that anyone hasn’t seen this film, but for those who haven’t this film is a comedic tale of true love between a beautiful young lady named Buttercup and a handsome farm boy named Westley. The couples relationship is interrupted when Westley’s ship is attacked by pirates and Buttercup mistakes him for dead, but Westley will not give up until he is reunited with his true love.
