Jesse Kivel, the guitarist and vocalist of the indie pop band Princeton has teamed up with his girlfriend, writer and fashion blogger Zinzi Edmundson for a disco-side project called Kisses.  We first heard the single, “Bermuda” in February and have been addicted and wanting more.  Well we were happy to learn that they have a debut album, The Heart of the Nightlife dropping on October 19th!  If you’re in New York for CMJ Music Festival, they are playing the IAMSOUND CMJ Showcase (on the same day as their album release).

Fun fact: Kivel is a longtime friend to cult disco producer Alec R. Costandinos, who rose to prominence in the late ’70s. Costandinos shared his knowledge of 1970s dance music with Kivel via a huge vinyl collection and Kisses was born. The  Kivel’s stint as a travel writer has weaved it’s way into the lyrics with songs like “Bermuda” and “Women of the Club”.
