The Greater New York exhibit opens Sunday at PS 1 in Long Island City and will run through October 18th. This is the third installment showcasing 68 artists and collectives that live and work in the New York area.  Covering a full range of practices and media, the artists in Greater New York are inspired by this great city and the “exhibition centers largely on the process of creation and the generative nature of the artist’s studio and practice.”  Many featured artists have been commissioned to work in residence in MoMA PS1’s gallery space to shoot photographs and video, rehearse and realize performances, and stretch the notions of sculpture, painting, photography, film, and video-making.
