Create & Cultivate | Ruschmeyer’s, Montauk
It is with a child like sweetness and a sense of great joy for community and connecting that I write this post. Serving as 80%20’s Branding & Marketing Consultant for the last three years I can honestly say that this brand truly leads the lifestyle that we sell.
For the first time, 80%20 sponsored the budding “TED like” conference called Create & Cultivate. This gathering was created for the purpose of cultivating the DIY craft while connecting directional media and key influencers. Chelsea Matthews and Jaclyn Johnson of No Subject LA are the ladies responsible for bringing this to life- their growing marketing agency is a prime example of ladies being about it, and actually doing it. Guests included leading bloggers Jenni Redosevich (I Spy DIY), William Yan, and Lily Peachin (Dandelion Wine), just to name a few.
Taking place at Ruschmeyers, the Montauk mecca of hip, we embarked upon a two day journey of using our hands, and expressing our intuitive creative.

80%20 hosted a special cocktail event for all of the guests on the opening evening Create & Cultivate. Our signature cocktail was Ruschmeyer’s delicious Pimm’s Pitchers- for 80% fruity refreshment and 20% fruity liqueur.
We made necklaces with brilliant ladies of Holst & Lee, screen printed with Stencil One, and learned beauty techniques from the 60’s with The Hair Pin Jane Marie and much, much more.

Media moguls were on deck giving us the latest scoop on trends and some of that celebrity gossip, that we of course love to hate: US Weekly, Foam Magazine, Self Magazine, and Hearty Magazine.
Master marketing minds from Google, and The Wall Street Journal discussed the state of our digital world and how to stay connected in real time. It was an honor to be one of the sponsors with Levi’s who had set up a Curve ID station, and taught us the importance of a custom denim fitting to hug our curves perfectly.
The weekend was a true success, and it was a pleasure creating and cultivating with all of the brilliant partners. For more images from the event, go here and stay tuned for video from the event coming soon.
