Ce Ce featured on Fashionopolis

Ce Ce recently met with fashion writer, Nina Myers and shared her current must-have items for an upcoming trip to the Brooklyn Flea. If you don’t know about the market it takes place outdoors on Saturdays in Fort Greene, and indoors on Sundays inside the Williamsburg Savings Bank, is filled with 150+ vendors carrying everything from vintage to vinyl.  Check out the full feature here.

Here’s Ce Ce’s current obsessions:

1a. On a beautiful day, I’ll ride my foldable bike over the Brooklyn Bridge from my apartment in Chinatown. 1b. I’ll wear my Raen sunglasses to shield my eyes. Raen’s kind of a surf line, but I love how sophisticated this pair is.

2. I’ll be wearing my own 80%20 Adair boots in gray, because they’re a bit more rugged, and the 3” concealed wedge makes them unbelievably comfortable. I plan on wearing them through the fall.

3. I was a handbag designer for a while, so I’m pretty particular about what I carry, especially when I’m out and about. This Valentino bag is very lightweight—it isn’t weighed down by hardware or made of heavy leather, and I love how the ruffles dress it up.

4. Small wallets help keep the inside of my bag organized, plus they double as a purse at night. I can squeeze in a lipstick if I have to.

5. I’ll definitely be wearing my Gryphon trench this fall. It’s warm, and it has a narrow cut, which I like. When it starts to get colder, I’ll transition to my Calvin Klein camel coat that I bought a couple of seasons ago. I’m also in the market for a great cape.

6a. I ‘m a loyalist when it comes to cosmetics. I wear Dermalogica’s moisturizing lotion with SPF every day whether I’m shopping or not. It’s gentle and it doesn’t have an overpowering scent. 6b. I love Laura Mercier’s entire line. I tend to stick with what works, but I try to experiment with different colors within the collection.

7. Stores can be pretty drafty, so I always have a scarf on-hand. I like the pattern on this one.

8. I’ve been into “preppy chic” lately, so I’ll be wearing a really cute vintage black and white fair isle sweater that I got at Stella Dallas in Williamsburg. (Similar style by Marc Jacobs here.)

9. Obviously the less you carry when you’re shopping, the better. I have compact SONY headphones and a pink iPod mini. Right now I’m listening to a lot of Twin Sister, Neon Indian, and the XX.

10. I’ve been looking for a pair of high-waisted, casual denim trousers with a flare that I can wear with my wedge boots, so I’ll definitely stop by my friend Brittany Pham’s “Mahps” booth. She used to design for Fremont in L.A., so she has lots of great 70s and 80s pieces with a West Coast feel. I’ll also drop by Melody Baker’s “Melody’s Addiction” jewelry booth. I really like these angel wing earrings.

11a. I love pickles, so I’ll pick up a jar at Rick’s Picks. 11b. Then I’ll make a pit-stop at Asia Dog for a Kimchi hot dog. They have delicious toppings.

12. Brooklyn Flea is a great place to find inspiration for my collection, especially since my design aesthetic is much more day-oriented. I plan on bringing my Canon Powershot. It’s interesting to see how different people sport themselves for the weekend.
