I’m soooo jealous that Kristina got tickets to the Kraftwerk performance at the Moma last week. While she was dancing to them live, I was dancing along to this video of the song “Tour De France”. As a kid I used to watch this classic scene from the 1982 movie “Breakin’” and try to pop and lock…
Over eight consecutive nights, MoMA presented a retrospective of the visual experiments of Kraftwerk with a live presentation in the Museum’s Marron Atrium. Each evening consisted of a live performance accompanied by 3-D visuals of one of Kraftwerk’s studio albums—Autobahn (1974), Radio-Activity (1975), Trans-Europe Express (1977), The Man-Machine (1978), Computer World (1981), Techno Pop (1986),The Mix (1991), and Tour de France (2003)—in the order of their release.
As soon as the tickets went on sale, I was sitting at my desk (like almost every other person I know) with a computer screen filled with multiple ticket windows, just hoping I would be able to score at least one ticket. No such luck…but then a week before the event was set to kick off, JACKPOT! Thanks to Roy Dank (Wurst), I happily joined him for night 3 – Trans-Europe Express.
The performance started promptly at 8:30PM, and it was two-hours of pure bliss. The sound was amazing and the 3-D visuals were top-notch. It was truly such a memorable evening and I’m glad that I can say “I was there.”

Has is really been almost four years since Ladyhawke dropped her self-titled debut? That album is such a studio staple and can we talk about how awesome ‘Paris is Burning’ is?
Needless to say, we’re excited for her new video for ‘Sunday Drive’ directed by Mat O’Brien. ‘Sunday Drive’ is the second single from the forthcoming album entitled ‘Anxiety’ due to drop in the US on May 29th! Here’s to hoping for a slew of US tour dates!
The Metrocard Project by Melanie Chernock started out as a class project to create a deck of cards and turned into a great experiment on ways to redesign the iconic Metrocard. If you are a native New Yorker, you know that a Metrocard is a must in this city.
Not only will you be able to score some gems from some of the best independent designers, you can also do some good! They will also be accepting clothing donations for the Salvation Army. Here’s an excuse to clean up your closet and support your local designers.
