We’re all getting ready to head to our Thanksgiving celebrations and starting to pack for our travels. I’m definitely going to pack my pair of Bee shearling booties. The Bee is the perfect cozy shoe to keep your feet warm in front of the fireplace, while sipping on hot chocolate! The bootie is fully lined and the shearling is so soft!
Find out where you can purchase the Bee available in Black, Cocoa and Grey.
Last week we started a new feature on the blog “Meet the Team” and now it’s time to meet me!
I’m 80%20′s resident blogger and Brand Manager. My day to day varies at 80%20 but my job mostly entails working on all of our marketing initiatives and liaising with our sales and public relations team as well as our production team in China. I love magazines (I used to work for one) and I LOVE shoes…I’m too embarrassed to post a photo of my shoe hallway (yes I have a hallway of shoes) but my friends and family know what I’m talking about. I’m obsessed with my Google Reader and the internet in general but I still haven’t gotten into Foursquare (reader – any thoughts on Foursquare?)
Current Obsession: I can’t stop listening to Twin Shadow and the donuts from Babycakes drive me mad (so good!). Dream vacation destination: I’d like to go island hopping in the Greek Isles. What are the five essentials items in your bag at all times? My iPod, Korres lip butter, a copy of New York Mag to read on the train, candy of some sort, and my Blackberry. Favorite Thing about the Holidays: Spending time with the family and not feeling guilty about pigging out on all of the delicious food. Favorite Blog: If I had to chose one I’d have to say design blog swissmiss. Do you like savory or sweet treats? Even though I’m obsessed with Babycakes’ donuts right now, I enjoy more savory treats over sweets. Give me a plate of fries any day. What’s your favorite part about NYC? Everything is at your fingertips, there’s never a dull moment. From museums to free concerts, there’s always something to do. What is the most fun thing about your job? I love SHOES and I get to try on all the samples (I’m a size 6) when they come in! It’s super fun to work for a brand and a product you believe in, plus my colleagues are super rad.
Ruche was created and designed in 2008 by Mai Olivo and Josh Olivo, and their furry companion Roji. In 2005 Mai started selling vintage inspired beaded sandals on ebay as a hobby. From then on Mai was in search of new items she liked and what was a hobby back in 2005 turned into a dream come true in 2008. With a degree in Computer Science and Web Development, Mai created and designed ShopRuche.com to bring affordable and unique fashions to people across the country.
Today, Ruche is “a vintage inspired boutique with a modern touch.” and is a collaboration of everything that has inspired the Olivos – fashion, photography, design, and lifestyle. We just love the look and feel of the online shop. And don’t forget to check out their blog.
As an independent boutique, Ruche fully supports boutique brands and indie designers and continues to grow.

We’re so excited about the collection that we put together a few outfits…
We had a little bit of fun with this last look playing with the pops of color. The looks is classic with the sheer black blouse and skirt by Lanvin x H&M with our Kitty wedges in Putty available at Moxsie.
With the colder weather upon us, dinner + movie dates are extremely appealing. There are a ton of new movies in theaters now and slated for December releases that we have on our must-see list. But the two films that top our list are ’127 Hours’ and ‘Black Swan’ released by Fox Searchlight.
127 Hours Starring James Franco and directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire)
There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding James Franco’s performance in Danny Boyle’s film ‘127 Hours‘ – out in limited release at the moment. The story follows hiker Aron Ralston whose right arm gets pinned by a 800-lb boulder in Bluejohn Canyon. Based on a true story, it takes Ralston 127 hours to free himself. We hear that it’s a totally uplifting movie (YAY for happy endings), I just hope I can just make it through the graphic scenes of where Franco (who plays Ralston) cuts his arm off. Would you be able to do the same, if it were key to your survival?
Starring Natalie Portman and directed by Darren Aronofsky
I just watched the trailer for ‘Black Swan’ on the big screen last night and WHOA. I can’t wait for it’s theatrical release on December 3rd. ‘Black Swan’ is a psychological thriller that zeros in on the relationship between a veteran ballet dancer (Natalie Portman) and a rival (Mila Kunis). Does anyone hear Oscar knocking on Natalie Portman’s door?
